I am pro-zoo. Zoos are not just here for our enjoyment. In zoos, a large amount of learning takes place. Not only do the visitors learn, but so do the zookeepers. Endangered and threatened animals are housed at zoos because they cannot always survive in the wild. They are kept in captivity so that we can help them to continue their species and so that they can live in safety. We breed them, which helps us to learn more about the specific animals. A zoo may not be the best place for an animal to live, but at least the animal gets to live. If not for zoos, many animals would either starve to death or be killed by humans. Many animals are threatened or endangered because of human beings hunting and killing them or otherwise causing their demise. We have pushed these animals so far that they have trouble surviving, so it is our responsibility to keep them in zoos and try to boost the number of individuals that exist.
