I've got a headache, and we're out of Advil at the office, so I had to take Bayer aspirin.
Through the years I've tried to avoid aspirin as much as possible because I've heard so many bad things about it... But today it was my only hope. So of course before I took it I did research online about all the bad things that it can do to you...stomach bleeding, seizures, dizziness, constricted air passages - the works!
Its been a few years since I've ever had aspirin, so who knows if I'm even allergic to it. Before I had a chance to fully think it through and change my mind, I downed two pills.
That was about five minutes ago...no bad reactions yet! I'll keep you posted!
I'm a big scardy cat when it comes to taking medicine. If I was crazy, I'd probably become a Christian Scientist. Of course, that would 1- Require me to become a Christian, and 2- Abandon all medicines in favor of 'prayer circles.'

The more I play Metroid Fusion the more I like it.
Last night I actually made time to play it. I even turned off the TV!
It's a pretty easy game so far, and I'm zipping right through it, so I hope the end doesn't come too soon. I plan to tackle Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance once I finish Metroid!

I think I'm going to try to start working 9 to 5 instead of 10 to 6. I just can't handle living without daylight saving time!!!
Driving home when it's dark outside makes me feel like I'm working on a weekend. I don't know why, especially when I've never worked a weekend in my life.

Another cool site to check out is Confluence.org.
"The goal of the project is to visit each of the latitude and longitude integer degree intersections in the world, and to take pictures at each location."

I played about two hours of Metroid Fusion tonight. This is the fourth game in the series, and it's every bit as good as the first three. (Well, I never played the second one, but I hear it was good too!)

If I were alive in 1964, I don't think there's any place I'd rather be than at the World's Fair.
Companies and organizations from all over the world spent over $155 million building these enormous futuristic pavillions of technology, industry, and science. Just look at those photos!
The Fair's unofficial icon, the all-steel Unisphere was amazing. Look at how big that thing is! It's actually still standing today! I'd like to go visit someday.
Flushing Meadow Park is now a shadow of its former self, but a few reminders of its legacy remain. It's sorta sad, but nothing that cool can last forever!

Chet Baker's voice really crapped out toward the end of his life. He made a lot of recordings in the 80s (some would say too many) and man, he had lost it by then. Maybe it was the false teeth. Anyway, he never lost his trumpet skills.

Last night I had this dream that I was base-jumping off of a skyscraper in downtown LA. I had planned to land on the 110 freeway for some reason, but at the last second I decided to settle for an off-ramp. I landed, didn't get hit by a car, pulled my parachute up into my arms, and started walking home. I never got caught.
The sound of rain woke me up this morning at 4:30. You'd think that rain would wash dirt off of a car, but in reality it just dilutes it and smears it all around so that your car looks even worse. Anyway, this morning there wasn't a cloud in the sky so I figured it was safe to get it washed!

We decided not to go with the new home development in Brea. We made that decision on Tuesday, the same day that we saw a nicer place (same amount of money) in Anaheim Hills.
We made an offer on that house last night- $10,000 less than the asking price with a 90 day escrow. We'll find out by 6 tonight whether they accept, decline, or counteroffer.
You sure have to sign a lot of stuff when you make an offer on a house! We were at our realtor's house for a good two and a half hours going over everything last night. Exciting stuff!
Let me tell ya, Orange County may have gone bankrupt a few years ago, but it's obvious where the money went - back into communities. Everything out there is so nice, well landscaped, clean, and QUIET.
Inch for inch, OC is way nicer than crappy, grimy, smelly LA county!

A lot has changed from the early days of MS-DOS all the way up to today's Windows XP. One thing that hasn't changed is the disk lettering system. That's kind of weird!
A and B are reserved for floppies, C is the primary hard drive, and D through Z are for everything else.
It's as clear a way as anything that I can think of to label drives, but it's funny that it hasn't changed in so long.

I'm listening to George Bush give this speech about Iraq right now, and every time he says "nucular" it feels like someone's jabbing a knife right into my ear.
Seriously, he's said it at least 20 times. You'd think someone would have told him by now.
Friday I was sick for most of the day. Late that night we went to hang out with some of Tammy's friends in Hermosa Beach. We started out at Shark's Cove bar and then went down to some other bar with lots of music and dancing. That was a late night of drinking and dancing; definitely not my scene. The good news is that the bar had INFINITE FREE PEANUTS that you could crack open and sweep on the floor. Cokes were only a buck!
Saturday we went looking for wedding invitations and interviewed a florist. The florist we went to has been in Torrance for 30 years and knows the area really well, so we'll probably go with them! Man do we have a lot of work to do. We spent a good hour or two looking at wedding invitations. The selection is overwhelming!
Sunday we spent literally all day at Bridlewood in Brea with our realtor (who is great by the way, let me know if you want a referral) looking at models and deciding that we really, really liked Plan 3! We put down a refundable deposit for a 3-day reservation so that my parents will get a chance to come down and check it out this week. Tammy's parents drove down on Sunday and they really liked it, so that's 50% of the equation right there. My parents will hate that there's no formal dining room, but oh well!
Sunday night we managed to squeeze in a late showing of Miyazaki's Spirited Away which was great, but super super weird.
Today I am tired and am dreading my parents' reaction to the house.

The Internet has changed me. For example:
I don't think recording artists should be compensated for their work. I think it's dumb to charge people money for access to music.
I think live performances should be the exception. Charge money for concerts and public performances, but don't charge money for the music itself. In my opinion, all compositions and prerecorded music should be in the public domain.
So how do the artists pay to get their CDs created and distributed? They don't! I think all artists should stop selling CDs and start distributing their music for free online.
I don't think it's fair that somebody can perform a song in a studio once and make millions of dollars off of it, or that someone can write a song in a weekend and do the same. It's just a song! Show us that you're the real deal in a concert and we'll pay you!
This will never happen, but it would in a perfect world!
