Up until now, every handheld trunking scanner on the market has been a huge, brick-like device.

Uniden recently announced the BC246T - a sub-compact trunk-tracking scanner! That's never been done before, and most folks thought it would never happen!

BC246T Press Release and image

Sweet mother of God! That thing is damn tiny! Just 4.5" tall! And boy howdy it looks gorgeous. Support for long alpha tags appears to be part of the package too!

I'll tell you this much - once this thing hits the streets I'm selling my Icom R2 and upgrading.

More photos are at the FCC.

Culdcept is a popular series of video games in Japan. It's like a cross between Monopoly and Magic The Gathering.

Last year NEC brought Culdcept to the US on the PS2 as a very limited release - just 30,000 copies - making it basically impossible to find a rental store that carries it nowadays. Luckily I was able to track down a copy last week and Brother, this is one sweet game.

You know how every now and then there's a really cool game that sort of slips under the radar and you wind up never hearing about it? I think Culdcept is one of those unsung heroes!

Just look at these reviews:
Deeko.com: 9/10
Gamespy: 2003 Top Ten Games of the Year
Gamespy: 4.5/5
IGN: 8.7/10
Gamespot: 7.9/10 (idiots)

Do your best to track this game down before it disappears forever!

We had our anniversary dinner last night at Napa Rose. As expensive as it may be, the food and service are always excellent. Last night we ate at the chef's table, which overlooks the whole kitchen...pretty cool!

I haven't eaten at a ton of restaurants in OC, but of them all Napa Rose has been consistently fantastic. I'd recommend it to anyone!

The Rasterbator will take a raster image of any size and blow it up huge so that you can print it out on a bunch of sheets of paper and have big wall-sized posters of your favorite images plastered all over your life.

Take a look through The Gallery to see what people are using it for!

Hey! Do you remember back in the 80s when cars used to have a display on the dashboard that showed you which direction the car was tilted? Like if you were going uphill it'd show a display of a car inclined upwards?

What was the point of that thing?

The whole James McGreevey thing annoys me a little.

Sure, he had an affair. With a guy or girl - it doesn't matter. So he's a sleaze for cheating on his wife and maybe he has some other issues with his personal life that he's dealing with.

I just don't understand why so many people think that this means he needs to step down as Governor. What he does in his personal life is his business. Has he been a good Governor? I haven't seen anything to say he wasn't.

I say let the guy serve out his term and let the voters decide when it's their turn to do so.

Yesterday was Tammy's birthday, and her mom took us out to Claim Jumper for dinner.

Tammy ordered a steak medium-rare, but it arrived medium-well. So she sent it back and the server apologized and got a new one - no big deal, and that's exactly what you'd expect of any restaurant, right?

But check this out - a few minutes later the manager came over not only to apologize, but also to let us know she was taking the steak off of the bill! It wasn't even that big of a deal, and we weren't at all upset or making an issue out of it, but she wanted to be nice I guess!

For a bill with just three people on it, a $25 steak is pretty significant.

That's the Claim Jumper in Brea, folks - they've got great food and service that goes above-and-beyond the call. I've never had a bad experience there.

From the creators of South Park comes Team America: World Police. It hits theaters two weeks before the election, and you can watch the teaser trailer now.

It's a marionette film, in the style of the original Thunderbirds series.

The South Park movie made me laugh so hard my liver almost exploded right there in the theater. If Team America is anywhere near as funny as that was, we're in for a late-summer box office treat.

Well our next-door neighbors who sold their house moved out this weekend. We were pretty much not at home while they moved out, so we didn't really have a chance to say goodbye.

They were nice though, and wherever they are, I hope they have a good time and enjoy their new digs!

I just hope whoever bought the house is nice too. It's nice to have nice neighbors, even if I'm not the most chatty neighborly person myself.

Woah...The first band that really got me interested in electronic music, Orbital, is no more.
"I think we feel that Orbital has run it's course," says Paul Hartnoll. "We're both pursuing different avenues with our music. And we've been sat, as brothers, in the same room for 15 years now - and studios are always confined spaces - I think it's time for a change."
Blue Album is their last album, and their final live performance is downloadable at the BBC's website.

More info's at Loopz, the official Orbital site.
